Born and raised in Milan, Italy, Silvia has a background in linguistic and literature studies. After doing research at Boston University, School of Education as a Visiting Scholar, she completed her MA from the Catholic University of Milan, Italy in 2010. Recipient of a Language Fellowship she was an Italian Teaching Assistant at Mount Holyoke College, where she graduated with a Certificate in Studio Art in 2011. Her work with people with disabilities, the elderly and the homeless through horticultural therapy, equine therapy and art therapy prompted her pursue an MA in Art Education as the recipient of the Ermenegildo Zegna Founder's Scholarship, at Rhode Island School of Design in 2017. There, she discovered her love for clay and woodfire. She was an artist in residence at Cub Creek Foundation in 2018 and is currently an artist in residence at Cobb Mountain Art and Ecology Project.
